Sejak menjadi anggota amatir, baru kali ini ikut CQ World Wide SSB DX contest. CQ WW contest adalah kontes terbesar amatir radio di dunia. Lebih dari 35 ribu anggota amatir radio ikut berpartisipasi.
CQ WW DX contest tahun 2018 telah berlangsung pada tanggal 28-29 Oktober 2018. CQ WW contest bertujuan melakukan sebanyak mungkin komunikasi dengan sesama amatir radio di seluruh dunia yang berbeda entitas DXCC dan CQ zone.
Awalnya belum pede untuk ikut kontes karena keterbatasan antena yang terpasang. Saya cuma menggunakan antena double bazooka single band 40 m. Itupun karena keterbatasan ruang, bentangan antena tidak sempurna lurus.
Tadinya mau dibuat formasi double bazooka inverted vee, tapi tertanya perlu tiang penyangga yang cukup tinggi untuk tiang tengah. akhirnya antena cuma dibentang diagonal rumah secukupnya, sisanya ditarik membelok menjadi huruf L.
Sedangkan untuk radio, saya menggunakan HF Transceiver Alinco DX-77E dengan power 100 watts. Untuk single operator, termasuk kategori low power.
Dengan antena terbatas, akhirnya saya tidak pede untuk buka warung atau melakukan panggilan umum CQ DX CQ DX CQ DX contest, saya hanya memanggil station amatir yang melakukan panggilan umum.
Dengan keterbatasan antena dan perangkat radio, lumayan lah dapat 5 negara meskipun ketika melihat kualifikasi skor awal, posisi saya ada di urutan hampir paling bawah. Dari pengalaman pertama ikut CQ WW SSB DX contest, dapat diambil pelajaran untuk memperbaiki peringkat di di tahun depan.
Paling tidak semoga tanggal 24-25 November 2018 ini bisa ikut lagi CQ WW CW DX contest, tapi sayang belum dapat keyer morse di toko online, semoga ada yang minjemin untuk 2 hari itu lah hehehe....
